About myself
Hello content creators, welcome to FEBE!
Before I go on a suit-and-tie corporate spiel about FEBE, what it's purpose is, and what it stands for, I'd first like to introduce myself. My name is Michael Miller. I've been a content creator primarily on YouTube for nearly six years, and I created FEBE. Since I was a kid, I was engrossed in YouTube culture. I grew up watching DanTDM, Markiplier, PopularMMOs, Jackcepticeye, and so many other legendary creators. I had a fascination with creator culture, and the concept of recording myself playing video games. I'd narrate what I was doing while I played on my Xbox 360 and even record myself opening Pokemon cards on my mom's iPad. Eventually, I bought my first laptop with money I had saved up from a lemonade stand that my dad and I had built, and in February of 2017 I uploaded my first YouTube video. It was a seven-minute long choppy and entirely uncut video of me playing on a Minecraft server called Hypixel. I still remember that the only reason I played it was because I thought it would get views. It did not.
After a short while I became acutely aware of the things that bothered me about my own videos, mostly in regards to the editing. I watched people like Ceeday and NoahsNoah, creators who put their heart and soul into the editing of their videos. This, in turn, inspired me to pursue the art of video editing and an ever-present urge to improve the production quality of my videos. In time I slowly learned how to insert text and images, then how to animate that text and those images, then I learned how to do things like use masks and utilize non-linear keyframes to smooth out my animations. I evolved from editing my content with the Bandicam Video Editor to a program called Shotcut then finally to Adobe Premiere Pro, and after putting countless hours into dozens of videos and trying an infinite number of ideas and content concepts, I found myself freelance editing for other creators in late 2020. I did this for a little under a year, and in that time I created videos that now have over 350,000 views in total.
Even after having done so much, I still felt unsatisfied with the work I was producing. The channel I had started when I was only 11 never managed to lift off the ground, and so I deleted it and decided to start fresh. I took a few months off, then came back to creating gaming content in mid-2022. This new channel was growing quicker than the last, as I had gained a couple thousand views and over 100 subscribers in under a month with only a small handful of videos. Still, I felt unhappy with the state of my content and my channel. I'd found myself constantly flip-flopping between gaming, film, vlogs, ARGs, and a number of other seemingly disconnected sub-genres of YouTube creation. As well as this, I had school grades to focus on as well as the pursuit of stable income in the form of a real-world job. After having a number of conversations with a number of different people about this issue, I decided to quit creating gaming content, hone my skills as much as possible, then share the things I'd learned with other people. And thus, FEBE was born.
About FEBE
All of the above being said, I'd now like to talk about what FEBE is and what purpose it serves.
I've been creating content for a long time now, and I've had to overcome a number of hurdles. There is a massive learning curve to content creation, a learning curve that I believe is too high for a lot of people. I've had to spend hours or even days learning how to do small, seemingly simple-looking tasks in Premiere Pro. Even when I did "learn" how to do them, they initially never seemed to look quite as good as the same thing done by the professionals. Eventually, I decided to purchase a handful of preset packs to speed up my production time and improve my video quality. Unfortunately I found that these preset packs were expensive, especially for what they offered. While some were much better than others, I often felt that they were outrageously overpriced. What FEBE offers is a product that delivers the same punch as these packs at a much more affordable price. My goal with FEBE is to offer the benefits of easy editing to all aspiring new and old creators alike at a cost that they can be happy with. I created all of the presets found on this website, and designed them with other content creators in mind. I've made sure that whatever you decide to purchase will satisfy you and your viewers, and that you won't feel like you're missing out on some big thing that other creators have that you don't.
Along with the products on the website itself, we'll be doing sales and polls, hosting Q&As, and holding a number of other community events on our Twitter. I didn't just want to create a website for people to purchase things from, I wanted to build a community of aspiring creators who want to take their career beyond what they have now. From the Twitter to the YouTube channel, I want to encourage an environment where people can help each other learn and grow, and maybe even see some people succeed in their content creation dreams.
I welcome you wholeheartedly into the FEBE community, a place that is solely meant For Editors, By Editors.
That's great, but... what's a preset?
Well hypothetical question-asker, I'm so glad you asked!
A preset is a downloadable file that is meant to be imported into an editing software (in FEBE's case, we make presets designed for Adobe Premiere Pro). When these presets are imported into Premiere, you'll get a new folder under your "effects" tab in the "presets" folder that's already there when you first install Premiere onto your system. Inside this folder you will find a number of new effects. These effects are not "new" in the sense that they are something Premiere Pro does not already have, but they are new in the sense that they take what Premiere has to offer and utilizes them in ways Premiere does not. For instance, a lot of FEBE's presets are simply just the "transform" effect. The difference is that when you use ours, they're already pre-animated to do something, whereas Premiere's default transform effect does nothing when you first use it. To put it to a metaphor, imagine that Premiere offers a lot of wood, bricks, rocks and thatch. FEBE takes those raw resources and turns them into hammers, brushes, screwdrivers and levers, tools that you can use to more easily create your YouTube videos. If this sounds confusing, I have a very entertaining and funny video that you can watch below that explains the import process as well as how they work. Enjoy.
